Hotels, hotels and more hotels!

Something like 4 months ago I became a freelance translator for Booking.com. They have a neverending database of hotels, and I can translate and translate as much as I want. They have writers that update hotel descriptions all the time, so the loop never ends. And best of all, they pay on time, every time, automatically. You don’t have to invoice them or beg to their accounting department.

Becoming Bacardi

Bacardi Limited – yes, the rum company – has developed a website to train all their newly recruited staff.  And since they are an international company, they needed their site translated into as many languages as possible. So I ended up being hired on Proz to take care of the Spanish version of it.

Too bad you cannot log in to see my work, but if you really need to do it, please contact me as I have samples you will be able to check. Over 30.000 words translated! And yes, quite a decent budget.

Drink responsibly.

oDesk rules!

There’s a link to my oDesk profile on the right handside of this page. You can see I get an astonishing number of contracts there. Most of them are just small urgent tasks, but they add up, and lots of people I meet there contact me later for bigger and larger projects directly. You can go ahead and check it.

And no, I am not affiliated with them. I don’t get a penny from you clicking on the link …
… unless you hire me :-)

Building Able2

I keep working for the medical company Able2 Iberia. Looks like things are moving ahead and now that I finished their new 2011 catalogue, they just put me in charge of the revamping of the Spanish site, aswell of some others run by them, like SerenoCare. Great project that started last October and seems to be growing bigger and bigger every day.

Printers, printers and more printers.

There must be something in my translators profile – or maybe it’s just pure coincidence – that makes all agencies send a request to translate printers software and help files from English into Catalan. Can’t say that I’m not happy with it, but oh well, lately my life is like “Please add paper to the MP tray”. So far I have been working on Ricoh and Kyocera materials for 4 different agencies, including Scriptware.nl. So you know, if you need to translate a printer from English into Catalan, for some reason you will end up looking at my profile until the next google dance.
